Happy Birthday, To Kill a Mockingbird

It was today, fifty years ago, that the world was introduced to Atticus Finch, Scout, Book Radley and the rest thanks to author Harper Lee. Tom Brokaw offers his thoughts on the novel. The blog at Powell's Books offers a surveys the internet landscape for a few choice To Kill a Mockingbird nuggets. Also, the Los Angeles Times follows the Harper Lee trail. The UK's Guardian also offers some fodder, here (rereading Harper Lee) and here (To Kill a Mockingbird's race elements). And don't forget NPR's podcast about the novel. Oh, and don't forget the Christian Science Monitor taking note of the anniversary.
