Men Lie to Impress Women!

It's true! Well, not that surprising, really. Interesting though is this, from The Telegraph: Men are twice as likely as women to lie about what books they have read to try impress on a first date.

I wonder what happens on the second date when the woman asks her budding love's impressions on the theme of divided self in the poetry of Sylvia Plath, that is, a hearty discussion on the argument put forth that Plath's use of the divided self was not based on mental illness or psychoanalysis, but rather on folk-tale, literature, and myth.

"Uhh...you want another beer?"

Jonathan,

scientific research has shown that men are judged by women, for mate value, on their *status*. Thus it is not surprising that a given man would "exaggerate" his accomplisments to a desirable woman! (btw money is a proxy for status).
